Project Evolution Island

Welcome to Project Evolution Island!

• This game is a multiplayer at heart (you can play solo - just not as fun)
• Find Match (Matchmaking) only works if 2 or more people have clicked the button
• Able to host servers and join through lobbies or a join code
• The loop is to kill enemies and collect coins
• You can evolve when you reach the coin thresholds (10/20/30/40/50)
• There are different tiers of evolution depending on what kind of coins you have collected (indicated by the color around the evolve! button)
• You lose 50% of your current coins on death
• The first person to reach the final evolution triggers sudden death mode!

Controls

• WASD or Arrow keys for movement
• Attack by clicking on the screen
• Right click to dash!
• Spacebar will level up (or you can click the level up button)

Extra Info

I am in the Game Development bachelor's program at Full Sail University and this is a solo side project that I have thrown together.  It's still in early development.

v0.1b - Beta Release!

New Features:

•  Evolution stat overhaul
•  There's a ghostly surprise waiting for players during sudden death.
•  Players spawning in after respawns are disabled should get a notification
•  Players now carry magnets to collect coins from farther away!
•  New map with level regions (More decorations to come)
  •  New cliff system (now with ramps!)
•  Critters!

Fixes:

•  Lowered game over time to 10s
•  Players can no longer spawn at the same spawn point at the same time
•  Can no longer mash space bar to level up multiple times
•  Leaderboard properly updates with highest level on top
•  Pixie attack hitbox adjusted
•  Frost Salamander attack hitbox adjusted
•  Fixed sorting issues
•  Fixed NPC respawn times

v0.11b - Hotfix

Fixes:

•  (hopefully) no invincibility glitches
•  Minimap now shows more than just dirt and water
•  NPC coin quality is now based on evolution quality instead of evolution tier
•  Fixed some grass spots
•  Critters are now always drawn behind other characters
•  Silver coins now worth 2 (was 1) and gold coins worth 7.5 (was 10)

v0.12b - Hotfix

Fixes:

•  Critters were causing issues so they are disabled
